Planning and editing music video

Introduction The song I have decided to work with is a song by a close friend, Harrison Powers, that's titled "Carrying On".  they're so many reasons as to why I've decided to work with this song. After closely analysing the deeper contextual meanings behind the song with my friend I later discovered that the song has deeper meanings of alcoholism and moving and growing past the addiction that comes with it. I believe we are able to link many visual ideas to the song as well keeping the song fresh and creative to align with his musical persona he would like to portray to a general audience. The video we want to create is a simple yet effective that will drive the song further to an audience without mentioning the deeper meanings as we believe they're too personal and will end up making the video  Planning After talking to my client we finally decided that it will be best to go for a rather conventional music video that establishes different stylistic traits th...

Music Video Analysis - A$AP ROCKY - L$D

Analysis Of song Meaning Rakim Athelaston Mayers better known as his stage name A$AP Rocky presents a drug fuelled psychedelic ballad which portrays his many experiences with the class A drug   Lysergic acid diethyl amide or LSD For short. Throughout the song   Rocky alludes as a girl to LSD throughout the song which can be seen with the opening verse of the song. One of the many effects of LSD as a psychedelic is dynamic, coloured hallucinations and the induction of a strong euphoria, which can last for over four hours. LSD is often portrayed as a girl named Lucy – mainly because of the assertions not received that LSD inspired the Beatles song "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds." Rocky may be rapping under the influence of LSD, as he praises its consequences on his mind and body or rapping about a girl for whom he has feelings. He has drug like addictions toward this female, even if LSD is not addictive. While LSD means "love, sex, dreams," this is a part of Rocky...

Focus Groups

What is a Focus Group A focus group is a moderated discussion group of six to ten people. Each participant is chosen after completing a screener questionnaire, which allows the researcher to ensure that a good mix of people represent the project's target audience. Before conducting a focus group, the facilitator will create a discussion guide to ensure that participants cover topics of interest to the researchers. A focus group typically lasts about an hour and a half and is occasionally observed by researchers and members of a larger project team using a one-way mirror. In conventional market research, focus groups are used to collect target consumer views and perceptions regarding specific goods, services, or principles. A company may use a focus group to gather customer feedback on a new product or service before moving forward with development. A focus group can be used in this context to test ideas and gather feedback on whether the idea will be liked or needed by the target a...

Evaluation

Scheduling during my schedule process, I believed that there were some aspects that I could have improved on and other aspects I believed to be on top of. For example, during my scheduling process, I believed one of the hardest aspects is creating the pitch and I believed that I was very creatively efficient not wasting a time with coming up with an idea. However, if I was to look at my scheduling from a different perspective there were many flaws to a lot of my decisions. I planned too much for a production that didn't need for a production that did not require that much. But thanks to my client discussions I was able to alter the things we talked about and correct my mistakes. But further, beyond this point, I believe that there were flaws in my scheduling that could have been avoided. My overall effort into perfecting everything should have been much greater in comparison to the idea that I originally composed. A good thing that I came from my pre-production will have to be the ...

Analysing a Promotional Video - Facebook Here Together

Prior to this promotional video for Facebook, Facebook had were going through a lot of turmoil in terms of how they were perceived in the public eye so in order to win the users they here together. This promotional video in my own respected opinion is very effective as i believe it does what it intends to do effectively by reminding users as to why they used Facebook in the first place. They did this by showing clips of what you would typically see on Facebook such as funny video's, family photos and updated statuses. As Facebook is in the same professional field as the client i can use this as inspiration. Sound - narration runs throughout the whole video explaining that Facebook will do better to become the app people once signed up for and accompanying this is sound from the app such as notification bells clicking of mouses and typing of the keyboard Shot types -  montage sequence of the app in use to remind the audience as to why the app is well mixed with shots from the...

Conversation With Client

My first conversation with Fruitbowl Tech allowed me to realize many things. one of them being the overall feel of the promotional video felt as if I had three ideas in one. three strong ideas but nether the less three ideas. we discussed that all three ideas would be very strong as individual ideas so progressing forward from this conversation I will be deciding which idea from my initial pitch to change into one strong idea. another thing we discussed was that the time I initially wanted to give this production as I'm realistic and more align for a feature film let alone for a 1-minute commercial. this will be altered accordingly to allow us to save money and ensure that the video is up to standard. my initial idea that i had curated was a video that invoked emotion that allowed the audience to feel almost inspired to use this app instead of shoving uses of the app down one's throat I still need to add some applications feature to the promotional video so I will try to add ...
